In today's world, looking and feeling your best is essential for personal well-being. Beauty Therapy professionals play a crucial role in helping individuals achieve this. This course offers a great introduction to the beauty therapy field, providing you with the skills to make a positive impact in the industry.
Entry Requirements
To apply for this course, you'll need:
- a genuine interest in beauty
- four National 3s or equivalent qualifications at SCQF Level 3
- to be aged 16 or over (if you are under 16, with appropriate permissions, we’ll consider you for a place)
If you don't have formal qualifications but have life experience, then we'll also consider you for a place, so please do apply.
Course Content
During this course, you may study:
Facials: Learn basic facial routines, including cleansing, toning, and moisturising.
- Introduction to Eyebrows: Develop skills in eyebrow shaping and explore different eyebrow shapes.
- Instagram Make-Up: Gain expertise in application of a current make up look.
- Introduction to Creative Nails: Discover how to create basic nail art designs on hands and feet.
You may also have opportunities to:
- learn in our commercial training salons
- participate in competitions
- listen to industry experts
- volunteer for community events
- assist in promotional events, like campus wellbeing days
Careers and Further Study
Upon successful completion of this course you may have the opportunity to:
- progress to the January start of the Professional Beauty Techniques course SCQF Level 4/5.
- explore various career paths, including Salon Beauty Therapist, Spa Therapist, Self-employed Beauty Therapist/Salon Owner, Beauty Therapist on a cruise ship, Beauty Therapist Trainer/Educator, or Nail Technician. With additional qualifications, your career prospects can expand further.
