When we look good, we feel good and as we know, our personal well-being is vital to good health. Beauty Therapy professionals play an important role in this by helping us to look and feel our best. They also get to be part of a diverse and ever evolving industry, which is both rewarding and challenging to work in. To submit an application, completing all sections, including Personal Statement in full.
Entry Requirements
To apply for this course, you'll need:
- A genuine interest in beauty
- Four National 3s or equivalent qualifications at SCQF Level 3
- To be aged 16 or over (if you are under 16, with appropriate permissions, we'll consider you for a place
We may notify you of the outcome by letter and/or invite you to attend a course allocation/preparation workshop/s.
If you don't have formal qualifications but have life experience, then we'll also consider you for a place, so please do apply.
Course Content
During this course, you may study:
Facials: Learn basic facial routines, including cleansing, toning, and moisturising.
Introduction to Eyebrows: Develop skills in eyebrow shaping and explore different eyebrow shapes.
Instagram Make-Up: Gain expertise in application of a current make up look.
Introduction to Creative Nails: Discover how to create basic nail art designs on hands and feet.
You may also have opportunities to:
- Learn in our commercial training salons.
- Participate in competitions.
- Listen to industry experts.
- Volunteer for community events.
- Assist in promotional events, like campus wellbeing days.
Careers and Further Study
Upon successful completion of this course you may have the opportunity to:
- progress to the January start of the Professional Beauty Techniques course SCQF Level 4/5.
- explore various career paths, including Salon Beauty Therapist, Spa Therapist, Self-employed Beauty Therapist/Salon Owner, Beauty Therapist on a cruise ship, Beauty Therapist Trainer/Educator, or Nail Technician. With additional qualifications, your career prospects can expand further.
