Overview

This course provides learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to deliver effective and professional wellbeing therapies. It begins with an introduction to basic human anatomy, focusing on the structure and function of the body, including the musculoskeletal and circulatory systems, to underpin safe and informed practice.

Learners will progress to hands-on training in body massage techniques, exploring methods to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and relieve muscular tension. The course also covers head and scalp massage, teaching specialised techniques that support stress reduction, enhance wellbeing, and stimulate the scalp.

In addition, the programme introduces industry-standard wellbeing therapies, giving insight into current practices, client care, consultation procedures, and professional standards within the complementary health and wellness sector. Entry Requirements

You will need to study this course: A SCQF level 5 qualification or equivalant A real interest in massage complete all sections of the application form including the personal statement If you don't have formal qualifications but have life experience we will consider you for a place so please do apply

Careers and Further Study

If you fully complete this course you may progress onto in Sem 2 the L6/7Wellness and Facial Therapy course.

The course could offer a diverse range of career opportunities to include self employed massage therapist, spa therapist, working on a cruise ship as a massage therapist, work in the wellbeing industy providing basic therapeutic treatments.
