Ayrshire College is pleased to announce that student Adam Kakharov has been awarded £2,500 through the Converge Challenge College Creators Fund, supported by the Scottish Government.

The College Creators Fund is designed to support college students across Scotland in taking their first steps into entrepreneurship, helping them develop innovative ideas for new products and services. This year, the programme attracted 79 applications from across the country, making the competition particularly strong.

Adam, who is currently studying on the part-time National 4 ESOL course at Ayrshire College, impressed the Converge panel with an application that demonstrated a strong combination of innovation, clear market understanding, and a practical approach to using the funding effectively. As a result, he was selected as one of this year’s award recipients.

Commenting on his success, Adam said:

I am very proud to have been selected for the College Creators Fund. This opportunity will help me take my idea to the next stage and develop it in a practical and meaningful way. I am grateful for the support from Ayrshire College and excited about what comes next.

As part of the programme, Adam attended a celebration and training event for College Creators Fund winners in Edinburgh, where he had the opportunity to further develop his idea and connect with other aspiring entrepreneurs.

This achievement highlights the strength of entrepreneurial talent within Ayrshire College and the College’s ongoing commitment to supporting students in developing their skills, confidence and ambitions for the future.
