Ayrshire College is pleased to announce the successful handover of the Kilwinning Campus from Infrastructure Managers Limited (IML), marking the formal conclusion of a 25-year operational period under a Public-Private Partnership. The end of concession was reached at midnight on 13 June 2025.

Since opening in 1999, the Kilwinning Campus has played a vital role in delivering high-quality education and training to communities across Ayrshire. Under a Management Services Agreement, IML has overseen operations at the campus, working in partnership with the College and a wide range of stakeholders.

The handover was delivered through a collaborative and well-managed process, with IML working closely with the College to ensure a smooth and compliant conclusion to the concession.

We also acknowledge the contribution of Bellrock, whose property service support throughout the project helped maintain a high standard of service and ensured a seamless transition.

As part of this transition, we are delighted to welcome the transition of Bellrock colleagues into the Ayrshire College family. Their experience and knowledge of the campus will ensure continuity of service and a seamless experience for students, staff and visitors.

The handover comes at a time when the Kilwinning Campus is playing an increasingly important role in delivering skills for the region. It is also home to the Willie Mackie Skills Hub, a state-of-the-art facility delivering training in construction, sustainable technologies and SMART systems. Opened in 2023, the Hub is already playing a key role in preparing students and apprentices for the needs of Ayrshire’s future workforce.

The College continues to work with IML at our Kilmarnock Campus, reflecting the strong and trusted relationship built over many years.

Angela Cox, Principal and Chief Executive of Ayrshire College, said: “This handover marks a significant moment in the history of our Kilwinning Campus. We are proud to take direct responsibility for a facility that has served our communities so well for over two decades. We extend our thanks to IML, Bellrock, and all partners involved in the concession for their commitment to excellence. As we welcome new colleagues into the Ayrshire College family, we look forward to building on this legacy and continuing to empower people for a changing world.”
