The Ayrshire College Student Association has welcomed new and returning students to the new academic year with a programme of Freshers’ events across the College’s Ayr, Kilmarnock and Kilwinning campuses.
The events gave students the chance to meet the Student Association team, including new Student President Demi Brown and Student Vice President Natalie Bestwick, who are representing students throughout the 2026/27 academic year.
Freshers’ was also an opportunity for students to connect with organisations from across the local community and find out more about the support, services and opportunities available to them throughout their time at College.
The Student Association is here to support and represent all Ayrshire College students, including full-time, part-time, evening and apprenticeship students. Its elected officers work with students throughout the year to make sure their voices are heard and to help enhance the student experience.
The 2026 events also gave students the opportunity to pick up a range of freebies and useful items, while enjoying activities and meeting the organisations who were there to offer advice and support.
The Student Association said:
It was fantastic to see so many students getting involved in this year’s Freshers’ events across all three campuses. Starting College is an exciting time, whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning for another year, and Freshers’ is a great opportunity to meet people, find out what’s available and get involved in college life.
A huge thank you to all the organisations and teams who came along to support the events, and of course to our students for bringing such a brilliant atmosphere to each campus. We’re looking forward to everything the rest of the academic year has in store!
