Iain Shearer is a passionate advocate for accessible education and holistic wellbeing. Holding a BA (Hons) in Sport and Community from Strathclyde University, Iain’s career began with a significant role in the management team of Active Schools Renfrewshire. There, he played a key role in developing inclusive sports programmes, fostering a love for physical activity, and facilitating the recruitment and management of volunteers.
Driven by a commitment to equal opportunity, Iain pursued further education and obtained a Postgraduate degree in Primary Teaching from Strathclyde University. He now serves as a primary teacher in North Ayrshire Schools, where his dedication to inclusive education and student wellbeing is evident.
Iain is devoted to ensuring that every individual has access to quality education and believes strongly in the role of health and wellbeing in academic success. He advocates for a holistic approach to education that integrates physical and mental wellness, recognising the significant impact of sport and physical activity.
Additionally, Iain has a strong track record in securing external funding for schools, sports clubs, and local authorities. His efforts have greatly expanded opportunities for students and communities.
Through his work, Iain is committed to creating an environment where everyone has the chance to thrive, demonstrating his dedication to fostering a more inclusive and supportive educational landscape.
