David Davidson

Vice Principal of People, Performance and Transformation 


David Davidson is the Vice Principal of People, Performance and Transformation at Ayrshire College, with more than 15 years of dedicated experience in the further and higher education sectors across Scotland.
 

 

David's academic journey took him through Strathclyde and Glasgow Caledonian Universities, after which he began his career with NHS Lanarkshire Health Board, later joining NHS Ayrshire and Arran. In his time there, David advanced through several key personnel roles, ultimately becoming the HR Policy and Performance Manager, where he made significant contributions before transitioning into the education sector. 

 

In 2008, David joined Kilmarnock College as HR Manager. Following the 2013 merger of Ayr, Kilmarnock, and James Watt Colleges, he was appointed Director of HR and Organisational Development, a role he excelled in until late 2020. 

 

Throughout his career, David has been at the forefront of HR-driven transformation and innovation. His leadership has been instrumental in numerous projects, including achieving Investors in People Gold accreditation and securing recognition for the College as a Living Wage Employer—both milestones that reflect his commitment to fostering a supportive and progressive working environment.
