We are currently recruiting a VQ Assessor in Aeronautical Engineering to work variable hours as and when required at our Ayr Campus.

This role is essential in supporting students to achieve Scottish and National Vocational Qualifications (S/NVQ) through comprehensive assessment, verification and monitoring within work-based environments.

As a VQ Assessor, you'll be instrumental in building strong partnerships with external employers and providing crucial mentoring and guidance to inspire learners.

The salary for this role is £36,966 per annum.

In this role, you'll use your industry expertise to support learners throughout their qualification, helping them build confidence, develop their skills and achieve their goals. You'll work closely with employers to monitor progress, maintain high assessment standards and ensure training meets industry needs.

As part of our Business and Innovation team, you'll build strong relationships with employers, helping identify new opportunities to support workforce development and strengthen Ayrshire's engineering sector.

  • What are the role requirements?

    Successful candidates should be educated to HNC/SVQ Level 3/SCQF Level 7 or equivalent in a relevant subject area, coupled with extensive experience in their respective industries. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development is also required. While prior experience in assessing and verifying vocational qualifications is preferred, the college is prepared to offer training.
