We offer a range of Apprenticeships

Why Ayrshire College?

We've spent over a decade building partnerships with employers across Scotland and the UK. That's why our apprentices graduate job-ready. Your learning connects directly to the jobs employers need to fill.

We work with household names in aerospace, construction, hospitality, motor vehicles, and engineering. These aren't distant relationships: our partners shape what we teach, provide apprenticeship placements, and hire our graduates.

We've invested in training facilities that look and work like the places you'll work. The Willie Mackie Skills Hub at Kilwinning has low-carbon and SMART technologies. Our aeronautical labs, hospitality kitchens, and motor vehicle workshops use industry-standard equipment. You learn on what you'll use in your career.

Commonly Asked Questions

How much do I need to pay an apprentice?

Apprenticeships are fully funded through Ayrshire College. Employers are only required to pay apprentice wages. You pay your apprentice as normal for the job they’re doing. You must pay at least the National Minimum Wage.

What are the benefits to my business?

Apprenticeships let you shape someone's development from the start, rather than recruiting and hoping for the right fit. You get a trained, committed employee with college-backed qualifications. Our programmes can be tailored to your specific needs.

How do we help?

Our dedicated Apprenticeship team provide all the support needed to help workforces plan their businesses for now and the future. They can also guide employers through the entire process including:

  • Apprenticeship Funding Requirements

  • Grants and incentives, your business or apprentice may be eligible for

  • Advice and support in recruiting new apprentices

  • Guidance on using apprenticeship to upskill your current workforce

You will work with our team to develop a training approach for your apprentice. This details when and where training will take place and what it involves.
