Health and Social Care SVQs - Care of Children and Young People

GH5V 22 SVQ2 Social Services Children and Young People at SCQF Level 6 

This is a Level 2 SVQ based on standards developed by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and is a legal requirement for staff working in roles such as: Support Worker in Day Care of Children Service. Please note that the exact role titles can differ between different services.

GH5W 23 SVQ3 Social Services Children and Young People at SCQF Level 7 

This is a Level 3 SVQ based on standards developed by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and is a legal requirement for staff working in roles such as: Practitioner in Day Care of Children Services, Workers in a Residential School Care Accommodation Service. This SVQ is also required for Residential Childcare Workers however in addition to an HNC Social Services. Please note that the exact role titles can differ between different services.

GH5X 24 SVQ4 Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF level 9

This is a Level 4 SVQ based on standards developed by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and is a legal requirement for staff working in roles such as: Supervisors of Residential School Care Accommodation Service. This SVQ is also required for: Residential Childcare Workers with Supervisory Responsibility, however these roles require an additional separate Supervisory Qualification AND for Managers of Residential School Care Accommodation Services, however with additional requirement of SVQ 4 Care Services Leadership and Management at SCQF level 10
