This Level 5 engineering course is ideal for school leavers, career changers, and adult returners. The Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) course is a key part of the Modern Apprenticeship, a qualification that most of the companies are looking for their employees to complete.

Entry Requirements

To apply for this course, you'll need:

  • a real interest in engineering
  • three National 4s or equivalent (preferably including Maths and English) OR a relevant SCQF Level 4 course
  • an interview with us, featuring an aptitude test

Course Content

Immerse yourself in practical learning, with an opportunity to master:

  • hand fitting techniques for component production
  • wiring and testing electrical equipment and circuits
  • forming and assembling electrical cable enclosures and support systems
  • practical electronics, building digital and analogue circuits
  • essential skills in numeracy, communication, team-work and problem solving
  • IT skills, including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and graphics
