The course content will cover the main ceramics hand building techniques including pinch pot, coiling and slab building, students will also have an introduction to throwing on a potters wheel, students will produce and glaze at least one object with each technique, and have the opportunity to design and make as time allows, following introductory lessons students can pick and choose which techniques they focus on, a basic kit of tools is supplied for each student.
Entry Requirements
This course is for someone who has little or no knowledge of ceramics and would like to explore ceramics as a medium, but would also be ideal for the person with some knowledge they would like to explore. there will be no assessment, however, feedback is given at all stages.

The course will consist of the following:
- Health & Safety
- Tools & equipment
- Wedging and preparing clay
- Making a Pinch pot
- Coil building
- Slab Building
- Introduction to throwing
- 2 and 3D decoration
- Glazing
- Demonstration of firing process
- Design and make
As this is a practical course, we would recommend suitable clothing, for example, Apron.
