The course is designed for anyone interested in developing their life drawing skills, including art and design students, freelance artists and illustrators, and those simply intrigued by drawing.
We will have weekly contact with a life model and tutor to build a substantial portfolio of figure-based work. Whether for widening your portfolio for college or art school or simply for personal practice and development, we will uncover a range of approaches to drawing the live figure.
Course Content
We will look at how artists have represented the body through drawing and offer in-class demonstrations and workshops but there will also be lots of time to find a variety of approaches tailored to you as an individual.
Working on proportions, the anatomy, perspective and interior setting we hope to enhance your drawing and observational skills in a friendly, supportive and discursive environment. Our exploration of life drawing will take you from the fundamentals of drawing in a variety of linear and tonal techniques to experimenting with media and reacting to transitional poses and movement.
