Overview

Have you ever felt anxious or out of your depth when someone has been injured, or do you worry you will not know what to do in a medical emergency? Then this course could be for you.

In a warm, friendly and fun environment you will learn how to manage a first aid incident and develop the skills to provide first aid to casualties with minor injuries or medical conditions.

You could find this helpful in the home, at work or at leisure.

You will be able to celebrate your success with an SQA qualification at SCQF Level 5.

Course fees are payable before the course starts. Please contact the college if you think you be may be eligible for a fee waiver or individual training account.

Please be aware that this does not qualify you as a Registered First Aider.

Entry Requirements

This evening class has no formal entry requirements, however, we do seek individuals with a strong commitment and enthusiasm for the subject, ensuring an engaging learning experience for all.

Course Content

Participants will learn how to manage a first aid incident and develop the skills to provide first aid to casualties with minor injuries or medical conditions.

Careers and Further Study

At the end of the course participants may want to consider applying for another Ayrshire College evening, part-time or full-time course. The Health and Social Care Curriculum has a range of courses at SCQF Levels 4,5,6 and 7.
