John Mather Awards 2024

John Mather Awards 2024

The 2024 John Mather Awards will take place at Kilmarnock Campus on Wednesday 6 March.

The John Mather Trust was set up in 1996 to help young people in the West of Scotland get started in their trade. Since then, over a thousand students at Ayrshire College have benefitted from the generosity of the Trust.

This year 168 students who have learned a trade or gained an apprenticeship and gone into employment, or set up their own business have been invited to receive an award.

Students from the areas of aeronautical, engineering and renewables, horticulture, motor vehicle, trades, beauty therapy, complementary therapies, hairdressing, make-up artistry and hospitality will be presented with a gift relevant to their industry to help them progress in their careers.

The ceremony takes place during Scottish Apprenticeship Week - a campaign that celebrates the benefits that apprentices bring to businesses, individuals and the economy.

We look forward to welcoming college staff, family, friends and employers who are coming along to share their pride in these students efforts.
