Ayrshire College backs Drop Everything and Move Week with football tournament

Ayrshire College students organised a football tournament for North Ayrshire secondary schools at Irvine’s new state-of-the-art indoor football centre, The Circuit last week.

The seven-a-side tournament, which was for S4-S6 pupils, was held in support of KA Leisure’s Drop Everything and Move (DrEAM) initiative.

HNC Coaching and Developing Sport students from the college’s Centre of Sporting Excellence in Irvine held the event on 7 November for eight school teams and two teams from Ayrshire College’s NPA Football school-college programme.

The tournament was won by Greenwood Academy, beating St. Matthew’s Academy in the final.

James Adams, Head of Learning and Skills for Sport and Social Science at Ayrshire College, said “Our students could not have held such a successful event without the support and partnership of KA Leisure, the Scottish FA and North Ayrshire Active Schools.

“The event was aimed at being fun and friendly and proved extremely popular with the schools.”
