Ayrshire College nominated for Ayrshire Business Award

The shortlist for the Ayrshire Business Awards 2019 has been unveiled, with 44 companies making the cut across 15 categories. The nominees showcase the best of business in Ayrshire, reflecting the breadth and depth of business successes in the region.

Ayrshire College has been nominated for the Active Travel at Work Award - alongside Booth Welsh and the Department for Work and Pensions, Kilmarnock.

The College promotes the health and wellbeing amongst staff and students and encourages an active lifestyle through its Health, Safety and Wellbeing policy and Promoting Wellbeing Action Plan. Ayrshire College launched Daily Mile routes at all of its main campuses, and participated in the Government approved Cycle to Work scheme.

Earlier this year, the College successfully achieved the Paths for All: Walk at Work Award for all 3 main campuses which focuses on walking and becoming more active. The College is the first in the FE Sector to achieve this award at its three main campuses.

Chamber Chief Executive Val Russell said “2019, the tenth year of these awards, has seen not only the highest number of entries but according to those involved in the first stage of judging the highest quality which has made it very difficult to select finalists. Thanks to all who entered and good luck to those going on the next stage.”

David Hughes, Managing Director of the award’s Principal Sponsor 1825 Financial Planning said “Many congratulations to all the businesses and individuals who have made it to the 2019 awards shortlist, as always the quality of entrants is extremely high and we wish you all the very best of luck in your respective categories.”
