Young people in the care system celebrated at Ayrshire College event
Ayrshire College held a celebration event for care experienced young people in Ayrshire, at its Ayr Campus.
Attendees were able to speak with external agencies and support organisations, as well as engage with curriculum and support staff at Ayrshire College to find out what college course options are available in January 2023.
Participants were able to interact with activities put on by staff members from beauty, computing, construction, early years, health and social care, hospitality, sound production, and sport. The College’s Student Association, Student Experience, Digital Integration teams, Mental Health Champions, and Liaison Officers also set up interactive stalls.
John Frew, Student Experience Team Leader at Ayrshire College, said: “It was great to see so many young people having an enjoyable experience interacting with Ayrshire College staff and external agencies. The event was a huge success due to our close working relationships with our partner organisations.”
South Ayrshire Council’s Claire Bradbury, said: “Seeing many of our young people there together celebrating something close to their hearts was great to see, as always it was a really good partnership event for our young people.”
