Ayrshire College and James Frew Ltd Partner to Advance Renewable Energy Skills with Industry-Leading Training
Kilwinning, 17 September 2024 — Ayrshire College’s Willie Mackie Skills Hub recently welcomed five engineers from James Frew Ltd for a comprehensive training program focused on renewable technologies. This pioneering initiative, the first of its kind in Ayrshire, was designed to equip engineers with the skills needed to thrive in the fast-changing green energy sector.
Delivered by expert lecturers from Ayrshire College, the week-long training provided the engineers with critical qualifications in Water Byelaws, Unvented Systems, and Air Source Heat Pumps—key components in modern sustainable heating systems. As a result of this collaboration, the James Frew engineers achieved three BPEC qualifications, further strengthening their ability to implement innovative, eco-friendly solutions that support Scotland’s green energy objectives.
