Ayrshire College is proud to celebrate the achievements of Bradley Watters, a second-year Plumbing apprentice with James Frew, who has been recognised for his outstanding commitment and performance by being named this year’s “Best Apprentice”.

The award is presented annually by the Scottish and Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers’ Federation (SNIPEF). Each year, staff of Ayrshire College select a top apprentice and nominated Bradley in recognition of his exceptional attitude toward learning, his positive engagement with peers and lecturers, and his consistent enthusiasm for developing his skills. His dedication reflects the high standards expected within the plumbing, gas and renewables trade, making him a role model for fellow apprentices.

The award was presented by Julie Rankin, Regional Training Officer at SNIPEF, who commended Bradley’s professionalism, work ethic and contribution to his training.

James Frew, Bradley’s employer, maintains a strong partnership with Ayrshire College and is proud to be a preferred training partner, supporting the development of the next generation of skilled tradespeople across Ayrshire and beyond.

Reflecting on Bradley’s achievement, Allan Bauld, Curriculum Quality Manager for Plumbing, Gas and Renewables at Ayrshire College, said:

I believe it’s important to highlight positive examples to recognise achievement and encourage similar attitudes in others.

Bradley’s success highlights the value of apprenticeships in building future talent and demonstrates the importance of strong collaboration between industry and education. Ayrshire College congratulates Bradley and wishes him continued success in his career with James Frew.
