Ayrshire College has reaffirmed its commitment to equality, inclusion and supporting LGBTQ+ communities through a Pride Month Flag Signing Event held at its Kilmarnock Campus.

The event brought together college staff, community partners, emergency services and representatives from the Ayrshire Equality Partnership in a visible show of solidarity and support for LGBTQ+ people across Ayrshire.

Participants were invited to sign the Pride flag, demonstrating their shared commitment to creating communities where everyone feels safe, respected and empowered to be themselves. The event also provided an opportunity to strengthen partnerships and highlight the importance of promoting equality and inclusion across the region.

As one of Scotland's leading colleges, Ayrshire College continues to champion equality and diversity across all areas of college life, ensuring students and staff are supported to thrive regardless of background, identity or circumstance.

David Davidson said:

At Ayrshire College, inclusion is not just something we talk about, it is something we actively promote and embed in all aspects of College life. Pride Month gives us an important opportunity to celebrate diversity, stand alongside our LGBTQ+ communities and reinforce the message that everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and supported.

The event was organised as part of the College's Pride Month activities, which recognise and celebrate the contributions of LGBTQ+ communities while promoting understanding, respect and belonging.
