Staff from across Ayrshire College came together on Monday 22 June to take part in the College's annual Wellbeing Day, reinforcing its commitment to creating a healthy, supportive and high-performing workplace.

The dedicated day saw normal operations pause as colleagues from across the College participated in a diverse programme of activities designed to support physical health, mental wellbeing, social connection and personal development.

Activities took place across Ayrshire and offered something for everyone, including guided dog walks, ceramics workshops, sound baths, football and other sports sessions, alongside practical opportunities such as Heartstart training and health checks.

More than a wellbeing initiative, the annual event reflects Ayrshire College's strategic commitment to investing in its people. By creating space for colleagues to prioritise their wellbeing, build relationships and reconnect away from their day-to-day roles, the College continues to strengthen the inclusive culture that underpins its Strategic Ambition of Empowering People for a Changing World.

The day also provided valuable opportunities for colleagues from different campuses and professional areas to meet, collaborate and develop stronger cross-college connections, supporting a culture of openness, teamwork and shared purpose.

Wellbeing Day forms part of a wider programme of health and wellbeing initiatives delivered throughout the year, recognising that supporting staff wellbeing is fundamental to organisational success and to delivering outstanding experiences for learners, employers and communities.

David Davidson, Vice Principal of People, Performance and Transformation, said:

At Ayrshire College, we recognise that our people are our greatest strength. Wellbeing Day is much more than a series of activities – it demonstrates our commitment to creating a culture where colleagues feel valued, supported and connected.
When we invest in the wellbeing of our staff, we strengthen our ability to innovate, collaborate and deliver the highest quality experiences for our learners, employers and communities. Creating an environment where people can thrive is central to our People Strategy and to achieving our Strategic Ambition.
It was fantastic to see colleagues from across all our campuses coming together, trying something new, making new connections and taking time to invest in themselves and each other. Those relationships and conversations help build the positive culture that makes Ayrshire College such a great place to work.

The annual Wellbeing Day reflects the College's values of being supportive, respectful, innovative, and open and honest, helping to foster an environment where colleagues feel empowered to flourish both personally and professionally.
