Ayrshire College proudly celebrated the achievements of its Class of 2025 during a vibrant graduation ceremony at Ayr Racecourse, marking a major milestone for almost 400 graduates from SCQF Level 7 and above.

The event brought together graduates, staff, families, and industry partners for a day filled with pride, reflection, and celebration — honouring the dedication and success of learners across Ayrshire.

Celebrating Talent Across Ayrshire

Representing the wide range of talent nurtured across the College’s campuses, this year’s graduates studied in fields including Aerospace, Engineering, Social Sciences, Creative Arts, Care, and many more.

The ceremony recognised not only academic excellence but also the perseverance and determination that carried each graduate through their studies and personal journeys.

Angela Cox, Principal and Chief Executive of Ayrshire College, said:

Graduation is not only a celebration of achievement but also a recognition of potential. Our graduates leave us with qualifications, confidence, and the skills needed to lead in industries vital to our region and beyond. Ayrshire College is deeply committed to widening access to education and empowering individuals to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Honouring Exceptional Achievement

In addition to academic awards, the ceremony recognised those who made outstanding contributions to college life and their wider communities, including honours such as Student of the Year and Making a Difference in the Community.

After careful consideration, the prestigious title of Overall Student of the Year 2025 was awarded to Leanne Auld, an HNC graduate in Early Years.

Leanne’s story is one of resilience, dedication, and compassion. A mother of five, she began each day with a school run to Glasgow before attending college or placement. Despite personal challenges, she consistently excelled academically, often being the first to submit assignments and inspiring peers through her positivity and leadership as Class Ambassador.

Her tutors described her as :

a remarkable student who showed outstanding work ethic and positivity throughout her course.

Leanne’s success exemplifies the values of Ayrshire College and the transformative power of education.

Empowering Futures and Strengthening Communities

The graduation ceremony also highlighted the College’s ongoing commitment to inclusive economic growth and strong partnerships with employers across Ayrshire. Through collaboration and innovation, Ayrshire College ensures its graduates are equipped with the skills, confidence, and adaptability needed to succeed in the modern workforce.

Angela Cox added:

Our graduates are true ambassadors for Ayrshire College, their communities, and their chosen industries. We are proud to provide opportunities for people from all backgrounds to succeed, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in the years ahead.

A Shared Moment of Pride

Sharon Morrow, Interim Chair of the Board of Management, reflected on the day’s success:

Today is a day of immense pride for our graduates, their families, and for everyone at Ayrshire College. Their success reflects their determination, the unwavering support of their loved ones, and the dedication of our staff who have guided them throughout their journey. Together, they have built the foundations for a future filled with promise and possibility.
